Osteopathy can help with a wide range of muscle and joint problems, from back pain and sciatica to sports injuries. At our clinic in Manchester city centre, behind the Central Library, we don’t only look at where it hurts. We look at how your whole body moves, so we can find what’s contributing to the problem and help stop it coming back.
Below are the problems we see most often. If yours isn’t listed, call us on 07866 705385 and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Osteopathy for back pain
Back pain is the most common reason people come to see us. Whether it came on suddenly after lifting or bending, or has built up over months, we’ll assess how your spine, hips and pelvis are moving and work out what’s driving it. Treatment combines hands-on techniques with advice and simple exercises, so you can stay active while you recover.
Neck pain
Neck pain often comes from long hours at a desk, looking down at a phone, or sleeping awkwardly. Your neck works closely with your upper back and shoulders, so we assess them together and give you practical advice on posture and your workstation.
Sciatica
Sciatica is pain that travels from the lower back or buttock down the leg, sometimes with tingling or numbness. Osteopathy can help ease the pain and improve how your lower back and hips move. If your assessment shows anything that needs further investigation, we’ll refer you to your GP.
Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain
Pain in the arm can come from the joint itself, or be linked to tension in the neck and upper back. We look at the whole chain, from your neck to your fingertips, to find where the problem is really coming from.
Hip, knee, ankle and foot pain
These joints carry your weight all day, so a problem in one can affect how you walk, run or climb stairs. We’ll look at how your hips, knees and feet work together and help you move comfortably again.
Headaches from neck and shoulder tension
Many headaches start with tension in the neck and shoulders. Gentle treatment of these areas, together with advice on posture and managing stress, can help reduce how often they happen.
Posture-related pain
Sitting at a desk all day, driving long distances or standing for long shifts can all leave you stiff and sore. Alongside treatment, Jose is happy to advise on your workstation set-up and on lifting and carrying safely at work.
Sports injuries
Whether you run, cycle, go to the gym or play team
